In March of 2001. 1 was appalled to find my head breaking out in sores, extremely itchy, and worst of all my hair started falling out! I come to find out that I had psoriasis. I am a Registered Nurse and had certainly come into contact with people who had psoriasis, but I really knew nothing about it. I went to my family doctor who suggested special shampoos, which did nothing but alleviate the symptoms, and it ultimately seemed to continue and get worse. I then was referred to a dermatologist who prescribed lotions. The first one was tar based and it smelled so bad that I was unable to sleep at night, as it was to be applied at night.
